In France makes already many years that exists a great interest by
collecting Champagne plates. One must take into account to exist very
ancient carved plates, of the past century, and that the first photolithographed
champagne plate is of 1906. It is calculated that there is among 6000
and 7000 different plates. This is thus because exist many brands
and why, within each brand concretely tend have different plates for
each variety or for each adds.
Therefore it is referred to the catalogación, from 1992 exists
an "Repertoire des Plaques de Muselets du Champagne, that it
has been gone renewing in successive issues 1994, 1996 and 1998.
The number of collector encounters in those which can be bought or
changed champagne plates is huge, since practically each week there
is two or three "Bourses" in different France points. With
all, the most important are those which take place in Vertus (spring
and autumn) and in Chalons sur Marne (autumn) by those which tend
to parade more than two thousand persons.
Currently my collection of champagne plates form it some 3000 pieces,
among those which fits to underline a thirtieth of carved plates.
