Jordi Viader Riera

It is journalist, writer, genealogist, entomologist,
and multicollector.
Journalist
As journalist has worked since 1972 in various daily and press
cabinets and it has been collaborative of numerous means of communication,
among those which the daily Avui
and the magazines "El Món", "El Médico"
and "La guía del Ocio".
It has been Chief of the Society Section of the News Services
of TV3,. Currently it
is the Chief of the Culture Section.
Wrote and directed the chapter devoted to Barcelona of the series
that on European cities coordinated and promoted the BBC.
Teacher of "Audiovisual Journalistic Production" in
the Facultat de
Periodisme Blanquerna of the University Ramon Llull.
It was Chief Editor of the magazine Reptilia.
Writer
From 1982 to date there has publisheded four short histories books
and three novels, all they in Catalan. Also it has approached
the poetic prose and the theatre.
Genealogist
His interest by the history as a rule and the genealogy in particular
it has carried to him to publish three projects on the surname
"Viader". Among those which the first, referred to the
"Viader of Cardedeu". Labor of historical investigation
carries out in files, libraries and particular domiciles of numerous
Catalan populations has permitted to him attach an abundant material
on the past and the present of the "Viader" and the
"Viadé" of Catalonia that it has been the base
of a database with about two thousand names.
Also there is arranged and edited the "Memories" of
his mother Cristina Riera Lloret.
Entomologist
Is member of various cientific associations for the study of the
insects.
It has been member of the executive Board of the Catalan Societat
Catalana de Lepidopterologia and of the draft Council
of the "Butlletí" of such society. Various projects
author and communications on lepidopterology, in addition to various
publication and conference articles.
He has a good collection of European butterflies, burnets of Catalonia
and coleopterous of the Iberian Peninsula.
Collector
Passionate collector, it has obtained to gather more than four
thousand coins of all the World, environment two principal seriess:
Foreign coins of the XX Century and Catalan coins of Cooperative
and Associations of the XIX and XX centuries. He collects also
token.
Currently it is devoted especially to the collection and the study
of the cups of "Cava", "Champagne",
"Sekt", and sparkling wine of everywhere, fruit of which
has been the publication of the first "Recull de Plaques
de Cava i vins escumosos de Catalunya (1995) that afterwards it
has been complemented with a "Addenda et Corrigenda"
(1996) on the same topic and with thel "Catàleg de
Plaques de Cava i vins escumosos de Catalunya" (1997), (1998a)
and (1998b) . His collection consists of more 5,000 modern and
ancient cups of sparklinh wines of all de World.
